Eventhough I'm a Christian and I know that being gay or whatever is not fully accepted, I still vote for the people's right to love whoever they choose regardless of their gender.

If it's love then it should be allowed. Denying the right to let two people show their love for one another is wrong in my eyes.

So I am PRO gay marriage.

This is more about gays and religion then just gat marriage. Remember we arent really fighting the government here, we are fighting religion... There was a huge blow up at a hospital because my friend was dieing from aids...and the priest wouldnt give him the final blessings because he was gay and dieing from the gay disease....He was spit on and I had to help hold my girlfriend at the time back

That was a very shameful and undignified, that person who spit on your friend does not have the right to be called a priest. Mad

Those type of persons give us Christians a bad name..

First off ... I am so totally PRO gay marriage.
I'm PRO a lot of things that don't seem to be the socially accepted "norm"

Secondly . . . And so happy to say...
I took the poll, and YAY ...

82% are PRO
17% don't care <_< .. hmmm
and 0% .. yes, you heard me 0% are against.

If only that was the way the rest of the world voted.

I think that is what the rest of the world votes too, or am i that naive? Well in my little country (my own world Cool ) that is reality i think. Well surely you got some people who think differently, but most people are pretty satisfied with it now.. over here that is, maybe i'm wrong ..

(btw i voted FOR!)

I'm straight... But I do approve of these gay marriages, everybody has the right to love anyway, there's nothing we can do to stop them--respect and acceptance, that's what it should led to..

But here in our country, gay marriages are such an issue, the society has a prying eye, but they know they can do nothing about it, like hey, let people be! Very Happy

For, or well...
Actually I'm against all marrige...
I really don't like it and since everyone in my family seems to be divorced, it seems to me that marrige only makes it worse...
Personally I'll probebly avoid it just becouse I'm afraid of bad luck...

But if they feel like wasting money on a expensive occation, and being willing to pay a fortune to leave eachother..
I'm not gonna stop them Very Happy

Gay people are people too. Sexual preferences and marriage shouldn't go hand in hand like this. It doesn't matter what you may, or may not, prefer in a partner, so long as the two of you are in loveor one of you in the country illegally then marriage should be allowed.

I don't care if you're straight, gay, or other, everyone has the right to fall in love and get married.

On second though, I'd like it better if they just banned the straight people from getting married as well.

It just seems like a stupid waste of money to me...

If it's the wedding it's about then have a wedding without no stupid papers that costs good money...

And if it's about the commitment then you should be able to love eachother without no stupid thing you need to sign.

Only thing I see marrige is good for is if you are religeous.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that how marriage started? As far as I know the religious side of it deals with "god" and his "covenant with the people" and all that glorious good stuff. I'm sure there is more to it than just that, but that is a part of it from what I think I remember learning.

Yes indeed, all marrige is for is becouse religeon required it for some odd reason.

Sure it's nice to celebrate once but, why da hell should you need a crummy piece of paper that costs money and threats you to steal your money if you are departed.

There should be no such thing as divorce in the way.

If you realize it's not working out, then you should be allowed to quit seeing eachother without paying a fortune.

Why would god want your money anyway?

While I can agree with you somewhat on the paper not being important, I think that it's the feelings that are important, the paper just makes it easier to fill out forms and prove it to the state/government later on.

It just seems syupid to me, if you truly love eachother...
Shouldn't that be proof enough, why would anyone need to pay for it really...
The wedding and divorce is to me just a stupid threat, as "Split up and all that money went to a loss".

I am very strongly in favor of same-sex marriage, with all the full legal rights of opposite-sex marriage. It does my heart good to see that most people agree with me here. In the "real" world (at least in my part of the USA) my opinion would be in the minority. Perhaps this is because most of the people here are young. That gives me hope for the future.

As far as marriage in general goes, although it may not be necessary for two (or more, in my opinion) people to be married to share their love, it cannot be denied that it offers many legal benefits. You don't have to spend a fortune on a big ceremony if you don't want to. I was married in the County Clerk's Office, and it has lasted more than two decades.
